Boston Hockey Club Ladies earned a 5-0 success at Spilsby.

The ladies travelled to Louth for their early-morning fixture, butbthe result made it worth going the extra miles.

Boston started well and were playing some great hockey matched by some good movement.

And it wasn’t long until Cindy Cottrell slipped the ladies in front.

Boston’s defence of Alice Peto, Petra Wood and Claire Nundy were called upon several times, especially when Spilsby won a number of short corners, while goalkeeper Sophie Vaughan denied Spilsby when called upon.

Captain Katie Beeson doubled the advantage when, making the most of space in the D, she rattled the backboard.

The second half saw Boston add three further goals.

Lauren Pitts and Cottrell were unfortunate to add to the tally before Petra Wood saw a strike from outside the D defelected beyond the Spilsby keeper.

Lisa Ceaser found herself in the perfect position to finish off another of Boston’s attacks by placing the ball to the right of the goalie.

Pitts grabbed the fifth after good work from Lauren Harvey.

The player’s player vote was very close this week, but Lauren Harvey got the nod.

Boston have no game next week, but are back in action away against Skegness on March.

They are always looking for new players. For details call Katie on 07951 285541.
