Boston Hockey Club ladies 7 Spilsby 0: Chester-O’Neill and Needham at the double

Boston Hockey Club’s ladies earned a thumping 7-0 victory over Spilsby on Saturday.

Tori Needham and Caroline Chester-O’Neill both scored braces for the ladies.

Captain Katie Beeson, Petra Wood and Chris Panton were also on target.

On the Rosebery Avenue astroturf, Beeson handed Boston an early lead, converting Laura Panton’s short corner.

Caroline Chester-O’Neill’s workrate was impressive, and she made it 2-0 after combining well with both Laura Panton and Needham, sweeping in from the edge of the D.

Boston’s defence of Claire Nundy, Petra Wood and Lisa Ceaser were once again rock solid throughout the contest.

Needham finished well to make it 3-0 going into half time.

Boston then scored four further times after the interval.

In the second half, the hosts used the width a lot more.

Boston earned themselves a penalty flick after the ball hit a Spilsby foot on the line.

Petra Wood converted the flick to score Boston’s fourth.

Boston continued to push forward, with Beeson making a run down the right before picking off Chester-O’Neill unmarked at the top of the D,

The midfielder finished for the fifth.

Goal number six came from Chris Panton.

Receiving the ball in the D, she slotted it home nicely to get herself onto the scoresheet.

Boston grabbed their seventh late on - a goal testament to Tori Needham’s hard work throughout the game.
