Boston students strike gold in national event

BOSTON Tae Kwon-do Club enjoyed tremendous success at a recent national competition.

The club took a selection of their students to compete in the event at Spennymoor Leisure Centre, County Durham and returned home with four gold medals, two silvers and a bronze.

The competition was open to all clubs affiliated to the British Tae Kwon-do Control Board, which is the body responsible for the British Olympic Tae Kwon-do team.

Pictured is nine-year-old Esa Timms who won two gold medals for sparring and a bronze medal in the patterns section.

Megan Fetherstone (11) struck gold in patterns and a silver in sparring.

This was her final match which she won by technical knockout (TKO).
