With the deadline for Midlands Qualifying Times fast approaching, nine swimmers from Boston Amateur Swimming Club travelled to the Ernehale Open Meet in Nottinghamshire to try to get those all-important times.
It was a golden start to the weekend with Katarzyna Midgley (11 years) and Harley Maddison (13 years), winning their age groups in the girls’ 400m individual medley.
Aliesha Bower then gained gold in the girls’ 400m freestyle (11 years) and Oliver Sydenham in the boys’ 400m freestyle (11 years).
Silvers were gained by Kieva Clegg (13 years freestyle) and Lewis Bontoft (13 years freestyle) and a bronze for Katie Scott (11 years free).
Harley also gained her 400m IM midlands time from her swim.
Medals and personal bests continued to come on the second day of the competition, as did Midlands times.
This time from Lewis Bontoft in the 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke and Kieva Clegg in the 200m breaststroke.
