Boston Swimming Club’s A team made a fine start to their defence of the Anglian League title.

They won the first fixture of the new season, competing against St Neots, March and hosts Wisbech.

The team got off to a flying start with Connor Spinks picking up maximum points in the boys’ open 100m individual medley. Further wins from Jessica Pettitt (girls’ 15/u 100m fly), Michael Keal (boys’ open 50m backstroke), Jessica Pearson (girls’ open 50m backstroke) and Kieva Clegg (girls’ 15/u 100m breaststroke) saw Boston A hold a slim two-point advantage over Wisbech.

Wisbech turned the deficit around, but further race wins from Sam Macleod (boys’ 15/u backstroke), Jessica Pearson (girls’ 15/u 100m backstroke) and Harley Maddison (girls’ 13/u breaststroke), saw the team go into the final event, the 6x50m relay, with a four-point advantage, safe with the knowledge that maximum points were theirs.
