Boston Tennis Club’s Men’s Seconds, newly promoted in to Division One of the Aegon Team Tennis County League, defeated Grantham B team in the first match of their season.

David Cheer’s side are looking for back-to-back promotions and began in style as Mike Burnett, Simon Bush, Alex Cobb and Cheer recorded a tie-break shootout victory in Grantham.

Mike, Simon and Alex won their singles for a 3-1 lead, before Grantham won both doubles to level things at 3-3.

The tie-break shootout saw Boston claim victory.

Earlier in the Easter Holidays three young aspiring tennis players from the Sleaford Road club took part in a mini red tournament at Louth.

Yasmin Everitt, Benjamin Rudkin and Billy Smith all performed very well.

Yasmin was undefeated in her group to finish top whilst Billy finished in third place in that group.

Benjamin won close matches but just missed out on one 9-11 to finish in joint first place in his group.

Boston Tennis Club’s popular Snowflake Summer Doubles League is about to start.

The league is for all adult and yellow ball competent junior standards and, although a doubles competition, no partner is required in order to enter.
