Following on from his success in the Bemsee Club Championship last year, Aaron Clarke is to make the step up to the National Superstock 600 class for 2014.
Motorcycle racing has always played an important part in the 18-year-old Kirton student’s life and he also has experience of Sandracing at Mablethorpe.
Living in the same village as Ben Wilson, Aaron has watched him progress over the years and, encouraged by his success, made his own road racing debut in 2012 in the Rapid Solicitors National Junior Cup on a Kawasaki 250 Ninja, finishing sixth in the championship.
In 2013 he made the move up to a Kawasaki ZX-R 600 and found more success in the Bemsee Club championship, where he secured a number of race wins and podium finishes.
“I now feel the time is right for me to have a stab at the National Superstock championship which runs as a support class to the British Superbike series,” said Clarke.
“I have already taken in a couple of track days at Cadwell Park in preparation for the new campaign and was pleased with my performance on both occasions.”
Looking forward, he added: “This will be a huge learning curve for me and I am under no illusions as to the quality of the opposition.
“For the first couple of rounds I will aim my sights at qualifying for the race and then do my best to finish as well as possible.”
The Superstock 600 championship begins at Brands Hatch on April 18-21.
