Boston Rowing Club’s competitive winter calendar got into full swing this weekend with the annual Pairs Head of the River event in London.

This event is the top level event in the UK for two-man crews, either double sculls or pairs.

Boston head coach Adam Berry has competed at the event three times with different partners, however for 2014 he teamed up with Lincoln RC captain Will Summerlin.

Unfazed by the rain, the Lincolnshire crew put in a solid performance and recorded a very tidy time, giving them 16th place out of 28 in the IM2 2.

This feat was made more impressive by them being the only non-London club entered, and definitely a case of the coaches leading by example.
