Four Boston-area athletes competed at the British Athletics World Cross Country Trials, incorporating the Inter-Counties Championships at Cofton Park, Birmingham.
In sunny but cool conditions over a hilly and muddy course, the runners performed well for Lincolnshire on Saturday.
Nathan Davy, from Wigtoft, Hermione Wright, from Frithville, Cally Priestley, from Kirton Holme, William Wright, also from Frithville all took part.
All four athletes are members of Nene Valley Harriers.
Nathan ran in the under 15s boys’ event over 4,500m, Hermione in the under 17s women’s event over 5,000m, Cally in the under 13s girls over 3,000m and William in the under 13s boys’ event also over 3,000m.
All four athletes were counters for Lincolnshire in races of more than 330 runners from all over the UK.
After his race, William returned to Lincolnshire to compete in a schools’ rugby sevens tournament at Woodhall Spa, his team taking the trophy for St Hugh’s School.
Meanwhile, Hermione also played hockey for Lincolnshire under 17s girls on Sunday, in the Eastern Inter-Counties Tournament.
