Boston Amateur Boxing Club members have been involved in national competitions.
Heavyweight Andy Waters competed in the Development Championships’ under 10 bouts category.
After receiving a walkover in the first round of the competition, Andy competed at the Beechcomber Hotel, Cleethorpes, against M. Woodcock from Nottingham’s Phoenix ABC.
The Boston fighter appeared to be in control of the fight as his strong attack appeared too much for Woodcock to cope with.
However, the Nottingham fighter unleashed a telling left hook, a desperate attempt to halt Waters’ attack, which landed sweetly on the Bostonian’s jaw.
Despite Waters returning to his feet, the referee awarding Woodcock the contest courtesy of a TKO verdict.
Harry Britton, Scott Harman and Dylan Richardson all travelled to Derby looking to make their club debuts.
Britton (pictured) faced fellow 10-year-old Kien Gill, from Corby Olympic, in a skills contest.
Both fighters showed maturity beyond their years, with Britton showing good control and accuracy.
Dylan Richardson was unable to compete as his opponent came in under weight.
However, Dylan’s stepfather Scott Harman faced Omar Amsfar of Prospect ABC.
Harman had his hands full as his opponent continually led with his head and was warned twice by the referee for the tactic.
Harman fought well but Amsfar was given the nod by the judges.
