Ben Wilson can’t wait to make his return to the British Superbike Championship.
The Kirton ace will soon begin his test programme ahead of the first round, which will take place at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend of April 18-21.
After securing the runner-up spot in the British Supersport Championship last year, Wilson is to move up a class with his team Gearlink Kawasaki.
Scotland’s Knockhill Circuit looks set to make history this year as plans are coming to fruition to run their round of the MCE British Superbike Championship in a different circuit configuration.
To celebrate their 40th anniversary, the track will be raced in the counter-clockwise direction and once track alterations have been made it is expected that the BSB round will take place on the reverse circuit.
Wilson said: “I am looking forward to getting back into the premier class this year and cant wait to start testing.
“The bike is now being prepared and we will shortly be out for a shake down test ahead of a test on foreign tarmac.
“To race Knockhill the other way around the track will be a challenge to all riders but I am sure we will soon get to grips with the new layout and I am eager to see how it goes.”
Wilson previously competed in the British Superbike Championship with Vivaldi Racing, finishing 17th (2005) and 12th (2006).
