The two in-form teams in the Boston and District Winter League both tasted victory this week.
Matches in the league resumed this weekend, following on from the January break.
Boston Tennis Club’s in-form C team, and the table topping F side both picked up important victories in the race for the title.
The teams were in action and competing, not only against the opposition, but also the gusty conditions.
Boston A were up against defending champions Boston C.
The youngsters of the A team managed to win one set from the C team’s James Newton, Ryan Frankish, Dan Bambridge and Anthony Hulley.
Boston A’s team included Matthew Gedney, Iestyn Halford, David Cheer and Sam Felipes.
Although the final result was heavily in favour of the Boston C team, many of the sets were closely contested and the A team made the older players work hard for the result.
Boston C remain the team to beat this season, although Boston F still hold top position and also look a threat.
The F team, still unbeaten to date, earned a 5-3 victory at Billingborough on Saturday.
Richard Woods, Zach McDonnell-Woods, Lucas East and Toby McDonnell-Woods were level with their hosts at the start of the first round.
But with Lucas East teamed with Toby McDonnell-Woods, the young duo managed to win a crucial set in the second round to add to the two collected by the first pair and give the team a 5-3 result, maintaining their winning record.
