It was a weekend to savour for 12-year-old Mickie Simpson and his dad Shaun in the Fenland Grasstrack event.
Mickie rode to three heat wins before the rain came down, putting an end to Saturday’s racing but seeing the Wrangle youngster declared the winner.
On Sunday, Mickie rode to four straight victories to take another class win.
Also on Sunday, Shaun was the passenger alongside Rob Bradley in the 1000cc, the duo winning all their heats and the final.
The previous weekend Mickie was in action at Redcar for the eighth and final round of the British Youth 125 Speedway Championship.
Due to bike problems he had to begin on a borrowed bike before fixing his own machine.
However, he recorded a first, two seconds and a third in the heats, before finishing third in the final.
