THE Boston Tennis Club men’s team of Sam Kemp, Richard Cook, Dom Beesley and Mike Burnett completed their Aegon Team Tennis Regional Division campaign with a defeat at Kibworth.

Boston were 3-1 up after the singles round, but the hosts won both the doubles rubbers to force a tie-break shoot-out in this East Midlands Regional Division clash.

This went the way of Kibworth, giving them a victory from a very good game that rounded off the league for Boston men this year.

Boston ladies have one remaining match, postponed because of rain.

However, the penultimate clash for the team of Rachel Atkinson, Emily Hawkesworth, Vikki Lowe and Andrea Jackson was a win for Ashby Castle in this away match.

The Boston Tennis Club Junior Aegon teams are also nearing the finish line.

The girls’ under 14 team finished runners-up in their division behind Tennis Buddies, Woodhall Spa, after a good win against Grantham.

The team was Emma Mastin, Jessica Frankish, Charlotte Priestley and Chloe Robinson.

The boys’ under 16 team has also produced some good results and the match against Bourne at the weekend was no exception.

The team, including Sam Felipes, David Cheer and Courtney George-Jones, had a very convincing winning result.

The Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League has suffered more from postponements because of the weather than the Aegon Team Tennis League.

However, one scheduled match took place over the weekend between Bourne Seconds and Boston Fifths in Division 3B.

The match was played at Bourne and the result went down to the last rubber on court.

Boston – David Makins, Ryan Frankish, Richard Tupper, Michal Chmielik, Peter Elphick and Jeremy Goerge-Jones - came through the first round 2-1 up after the crucial rubber of that round was won by Boston.

The second round then levelled the match at 3-3 and, as often happens, the third round went to 4-4 with one result to be decided which was poised at one set apiece.

The pairing of Jeremy George Jones and Peter Elphick went on to win the tie-break 10-3 and the match was won 5-4.

The Chattertons Club Tournament takes place at Boston Tennis Club very soon.
