Golfers end season with an Am-Am

Boston Golf Club’s Seniors’ and Ladies’ Sections held their end-of-season Am-Am.

The winners were Jean Markham, Pam Clare, Jim Falwell and Gerald Harrison with Terry Forster, John Le Mesurier, Marita Jordan and Barbara Unwin the runners-up.

Teams of three played a shuffle event at the ladies’ roll-up, with one score counting on par fives, two on par fours and all three on par threes.

The winning team, with 41 stableford points, were Jean Markham, Pam King and Maureen Molsom.

In second place with 37 points were Jane Marriott, Ruth Simpson and Di Lincoln.

The ladies’ Bring and Win was a Texas scramble won by Ruth Simpson, Ann Gullick and Barbara Unwin with a score of 32.4.

Nearest the pin on the fifth was Jean Markham.

The best Christmas outfit was won by Barbara Unwin and the best Christmas hat title went to Margaret Hardy.

Seven teams of three played the Military Two Step.

Winning on a countback with 29 points were Jacquie Short, Chris Needham and Barbara Unwin, pipping runners-up Ann Hodgson, Liz Harris and Lady Captain Anne Wallhead on countback.

The Winter League Comp was won by T. Lee and M. Lee with a nett 59.9.

The Sunday Stableford was won by James Hodgson with 43 points and categories were won by Nev Kemp with 43 points ahead of runner-up R. Green in the 0-12.

And the 13-28 section was won by J. Wellbery with 42 points.

The runner-up was T. West on 41.
