Gymnasts win a lot at Camelot event

SEVENTEEN members of Boston’s TJ Gymnastics squad travelled to Lancashire to compete in the Flic Flac Camelot invitational competition.

Competing over two days, the girls brought home 11 gold medals, 16 silvers, 10 bronzes and eight fourth-place rosettes.

Day one saw the mini squad – which consisted of Tallulah Hughes, Ruby Hardstaff, Melena Baxter, Alice Parkin, Keira Menzies – compete.

Day two saw the older girls – Holly Menzies, Mackenzie Hughes, Chloe Almond, Lillie Manning, Nyah Onurlu, Tegan Rogers, Paige Wallis, Keisha Almond, Cherida Sohngen, Romae Mackintosh, Summer Rose and Gracie Chase – in action.

Ruby Hardstaff came first in her age group, as did Mackenzie Hughes and Gracie Chase.

Gracie was also the overall winner of her group.

Six girls – Katie Vickers, Cherida Sohngen, Romae Mackintosh, Summer Rose, Holly Menzies and Charlotte Arch – have also qualified for the Lincolnshire Floor and Vault Team.

They will be competing in the Regional Floor and Vault Championships which are being at Leicester College on April 29.
