Boston Golf Club held their Ladies Dunhill Island Trophy competition.

Pam Hyde carded 40 stableford points, playing off 17, to be the clear winner, six points ahead of second-placed Hilary Calvert.

The result means Pam drops a shot and will now be playing off 15.7 (16).

Third place went to Joan Young with 33 points.

The twos competition was won by Ruth Simpson.

The Peugeot Coronation Foursomes saw 11 pairs of ladies playing off half combined handicaps, taking alternative shots. The winners of this qualifying round hope to progress to one of the 16 area finals, the finalists of these will meet to play at St Andrews in September.

The winning pair was Yvonne Wright and Ann Hodgson. Runners-up were Fran Grant and Yvonne Schaffarczyk, beating Pam Hyde and Jean Markham on countback.

Kirton Holme held their open Am-Am a pairs betterball, with two pairs from Boston in the prizes.

A Gedney Hill pair won first prize, while second position went to Boston’s Anne Wallhead and Hilary Calvert, with Ann Hodgson and Joan Young third.
