Boston Hockey Club Ladies picked up three points on Saturday... but not in the manner they would have wished.
Opponents Louth Thirds conceded the match on the Friday, handing the victory over to Katie Beeson’s side.
Although the points are welcome by the ladies, ensuring they remain fourth in the Lincolnshire Ladies’ League - it means another frustrating break from action.
Due to postponements and problems with the Rosebery Avenue pitch being deemed unplayable, the team have only played once since December 15.
That match was an ill-tempered clash against Lincoln Seconds, which saw Boston lose 3-0.
Boston are now eager to get back into action to get over that defeat, which came on January 12, in emphatic style.
They are hoping their chance will come on Saturday as they face a tough task, coming up against second-placed Horncastle Firsts.
The match will be played at Gleed School, Spalding (12.30pm) and victory would see Boston maintain fourth.
