Brian Hill scooped another double at this weekend’s Veterans English Table Tennis Society’s Northern Masters event.
Brian won the over 70s singles and the over 70s doubles events, the latter with regular partner Roy Norton in Blackpool.
“I’m very happy to have won the singles and the doubles,” Brian told The Standard.
“That’s four national Masters tournaments I’ve entered this year and finished up winning, so I’m very proud of that fact.
Brian beat Dennis Bromage in straight games in the final of the singles while he and Norton defeated Tony Brown and Mike Meredith in the doubles showpiece, again without dropping a game.
However, Brian - who has been out of training due to being away on holiday - missed out on the over 60s title, being beaten in the quarter-finals.
The Wyberton resident is now hoping he can make it a clean sweep in all six of this season’s Masters events.
Next up is the VETTS Western Masters in Thornbury, near Bristol, next month, followed by May’s VETTS National Championships in Tipton.
