Jade Windley’s Wimbledon dreams have come to an end.
The 23-year-old - a former member of Boston Tennis Club - and her partner Sam Murray were eliminated from the ladies’ doubles by Italian Flavia Pennetta and Andrea Petkovic, of Germany, this afternoon.
Windley and Murray lost the first set without winning a game, but regained their composure to level at 6-2.
However, Pennetta and Petkovic wrapped up victory with a 6-2 success in the third set.
The victorious pair will face Liezel Huber (USA) and Samia Mirza (Ind) in the second round.
