Callum Johnson has pulled out of his Wembley Arena showdown.
The light heavyweight was due compete on Frank Warren’s Behind Enemy Lines promotion, on the undercard of Dereck Chisora’s battle with American Malik Scott.
Saturday’s showdown would have been Boston’s Commonwealth Games gold medallist’s biggest show to date, with a crowd of around 10,000 expected at the arena, and more viewers tuning in on TV.
However, The Standard understands that the 27-year-old has pulled out of the fight as he looks to assess his future in the sport.
Johnson remains one of the division’s most promising prospects.
He is unbeaten since turning professional in December 2010.
He has won all six of his bouts and is in top shape after recently returning from New York City, where he was sparring with Matthew Macklin.
However, a number of cancelled cards and an in jury left him going more than a year without a fight, which had frustrated Johnson.
