Unbeaten Boston boxer Callum Johnson hopes to Pole-axe his opponent at Grantham’s Meres Leisure Centre on Saturday.
He comes up against Poland’s Bartlomiej Grafka after two previous opponents dropped out of the Mayhem at the Meres event.
Johnson, who boasts a perfect 10 wins out of 10 record since turning professional, was originally due to face Joel McIntyre in a British title eliminator, but the Portsmouth boxer pulled out due to a hand injury.
He was then lined up to take on useful Czech Tomas Adamek, but that also fell through so the 2010 Commonwealth Games champion now comes up against Grafka, who has won 11 of his 14 bouts to date.
Johnson knows very little about his opponent but insists he will treat the bout just as seriously as if he was still involved in a title eliminator.
He said: “I want my next fight to be a title fight, or at least a title eliminator, so I have to win on Saturday.
“If I don’t win then I won’t get that British title fight so this bout is still very important.
“My training has gone well and I feel I am in the best shape of my life, so hopefully I will produce a good performance on Saturday.
