Boston Golf Club’s Jordan Wrisdale overcame a virus to win the Lincolnshire Boys’ Championship.
The 17-year-old had been suffering from illness, but he shook that off to claim the title at South Kyme Golf Club last weekend.
His victory also sees him qualify to play in the Midland Golf Union Junior Champion of Champions event at Lingdale GC on September 8 and in the England Golf Junior Champion of Champions event at Woodhall Spa six days later.
Jordan shot 76 in the morning round.
However, a phenomenal five-under-par afternoon session saw him card 69, to be crowned the under 18s champion by two shots.
Jordan - who plays off a +1 handicap and is involved in the England junior set-up - will spend the summer competing in a number of senior events as he prepares to make the step up next year.
That will include taking part in The Open qualifiers at Sunningdale Golf Club, Berkshire later this month.
Meanwhile, at Boston Golf Club, the Ed White Texas scramble pairs competition was won by M. Jones and D. Cartwright, with a nett 61.5.
They just edged out L. Hockerston and V. Hunter.
In third were S. Hodgson and D. Manson.
Lee Hallas and Jordan Ryadale won the Gents’ Invitational Pairs on the Cowbridge Course at the weekend.
They beating M. Jones and S. Gough on countback, as both recorded 40 points.
Third were P. Sale and G. Garrett (39).
