GOSBERTON speedway rider Simon lambert has joined National League side Stoke – as their number one rider.
The ex-Boston Barracuda has agreed to join National League Stoke Potters for the 2011 season.
Lambert who was number one for King’s Lynn’s National League team last year failed to agree terms with his parent club. He has now agreed to ride for the Stoke Potters this campaign.
Lambert said: “This is a new challenge for me but I do now team up again with ex-Boston team manager Malcolm Vasey.
“Malcolm has known me since I was 10 years old when I was team mascot for Boston.
“Then I got into the team at number seven when I was 15 and worked my way up to number one and captain.
“I think a move away from King’s Lynn to a smaller-sized track will help develop my speedway career.
“I have also agreed terms with Sheffield Tigers to race in the Premier League and so I have a busy season starting ahead.
“My bikes and engines are nearly ready for the new season which starts in six weeks.
“I am in training, running and football training to maintain my fitness and I am as keen as ever – I can’t wait to get started.”
