Boston Hockey Club’s Men’s team are currently sitting in second spot of the Eastern Hockey League Division 6NW.
On Saturday the side recorded a 4-0 victory at Leadenham Seconds.
Richard Wightman and Bob Edwards both netted two goals apiece.
Boston had already beaten their weekend opponents 3-0 in the home fixture in early December, when an own goal, Jamie Birks and Ben Car settled the score.
The Men’s team are currently level on points with third-placed Alford and District Seconds, but have a far superior goal difference.
Boston have scored 54 times and conceded just 27.
In contrast, Alford have grabbed 41 goals but also shipped 32.
However, with just two fixtures left in the Division 6NW campaign, a betting man may stil have his money on Horncastle Seconds wining the title.
The league leaders are five points clear at the top.
They also have a goal difference of 44.
However, the Boston team still have an outside chance of overtaking Horncastle.
They are without a match this week but will return to action on March 1 with an away contest at fourth-placed Spalding Fifths (3.30pm).
The following weekend they host Grantham Firsts, currently in seventh in the division (2pm).
Boston have already beaten Spalding (2-0) and Grantham (3-0) this season.
