Against Eastgate, the team of Ray and Ryan Frankish, Mike Burnett, Henry Beesley, Lewis Fisher and Simon Bush clinched a 5-4 away win.

The Firsts’ Steve Green, Mark Thompson, Lewis Fisher, Simon Bush, James Newton and Andy Clamp followed this up by beating Grimsby Seconds 8-1.

The Men’s Fifths overcame Bourne Thirds 9-0, with Richard Tupper, Michal Chielik, David Makins, Courtney George-Jones, Peter Elphick and Sev Smura.

The Men’s Sixth team – Richard Woods, Zafar Khan, Doug Motson, Joseph Parla, Toby McDonnell-Woods and Lucas East – lost out 7-2 to Bourne Seconds.

Boston Tennis Club members Laura White, Will Mason, Dom Beesley, Joe Woolley and James White represented Lincolnshire in the Aegon Summer County Cup.

This doubles-only event was held at 15 grass court venues across Britain over the course of a week, with men’s and ladies’ teams from 44 counties.

The men’s and ladies’ teams played in group five at Cambridge and Tunbridge Wells respectively.

Both teams finished as runners-up in their groups to gain promotion.

The men had wins against Cornwall, Bedfordshire and Hereford and Worcester, while losing to group winners Somerset and to Durham and Cleveland.

The ladies beat Cornwall and Derbyshire, but also lost out to Somerset.

Emma Mastin, David Cheer, Tom Hull and Zoe Mair were the winners of Boston Tennis Club’s annual NSPCC fundraiser. The event - which raised more than £300 for the children’s charity - was played in tricky weather conditions.

Emma and David were the top boy and girl in their group, while Tom and Zoe won their section.
