Kirton Holme Golf Club’s new Club Captain and Lady Captain have been unveiled.

Barry Carter will take on the role of captain, while Mavis Ablard will take on the role for the ladies’ section.

They will hold the roles for the next 12 months.

Carter and Ablard have chosen SCOPE as the Kirton Holme club’s charity for this upcoming year.

They will be raising funds for the disability charity throughout 2014.

They will take over the roles from Pamela Toy and Phil Hulley, who raised cash for Pilgrim Hospital’s Neonatal Unit.

The new roles were announced at the club’s annual meeting.

During the evening the annual awards were made to the following ladies section members: Birthday Bowl - Mavis Ablard, Rosemary Bell Trophy - Vee King, Jean Cook Trophy - Mavis Ablard and Merna Atkins, Rylott Bowl - Lorraine Bush, Frost Salver for Endeavour - Yvonne Prior, Ladies Champion for 2013 - Barbara Pell, Lady President’s Crystal Bowl - Sarah Cantwell, Lady Captain’s Plate - Anthea Hall, and the Lady Captain‘s Knockout Trophy and Ladies Winter League, Mary Piper.

The annual Christmas nine-hole stableford was won by Pam Toy.

Her 22 point were enough to see off Gill Smith and Jackie Ward.
