No doubles troubles for Boston Tennis Club champions McCaig and Needham

Calum McCaig and Tori Needham are the 2013 Chattertons Mixed Doubles Club champions at Boston Tennis Club.

The duo emerged as the winners after a close 6-4 final victory against James Newton and Claire Smith.

Players were divided in to groups and had to play 11 games against every other pair.

The Chattertons-sponsored club tournaments will continue with age categories open from under eights to veterans.

Boston’s Men’s First team suffered an 8-4 defeat to Lutterworth in the fourth match of this season’s Aegon Team Tennis East Midlands Division.

Dom Beesley, Henry Beesley, Sam Kemp and Mike Burnett were locked at two matches each following the the singles, Dom and Sam winning both their contests in the third set.

The doubles were close but both went the way of Lutterworth.

There are now two remaining matches, and the men are currently in a mid-table position.

Boston’s Aegon under nines - Harvey Vickers, William Cheer, Denby Baker and Louise Sharp - beat Sleaford 8-4 at home.

In the Slazenger Lincolnshire Doubles League Division Three, the Boston Men’s Fourths had a convincing 9-0 result against Grimsby Fourths. Thomas Cozens made a strong debut, teaming up with Jeremy George Jones, Owen Jary, Zac and Toby McDonald-Woods and Sam Felipes.

The Ladies’ Fifth - Lesley Addy, Annette Jakeman, Sue Dring, Helen Duckett and Nikki Lawrence beat Bourne 5-4 in Division Three.
