The fifth week of matches in the Boston and District Winter Tennis League was a beautiful morning in contrast to some of the previous Sundays.
Boston D played Boston E and Boston A played an away match at Horncastle.
It was a very close match for the two Boston teams and only one game separated the teams in the final instance.
Boston D – David Dunlop, Tom Cozens, Simon Buchanan and David Cook - had the draw with Boston E team – Rob Griffiths, Carl Stanney, Edward Fowler and Andrew Dockerill - and at 2-2 a countback on games was used giving the winning draw to Boston E team by 33 games to 32.
Boston B won 4-0 at Horncastle with the team of Andy Clamp, Terry Mastin, Sev Smura and Ben Kaye.
The Lincolnshire Mini Tennis Leagues continued indoors at Boston Tennis Club on Saturday afternoon.
It was the turn of the mini tennis orange teams and two Boston teams were in action.
The teams of James Gedney and Will Pettitt, who stood in for Boston A, and Jacob Felipes and Wil Pettitt for Boston B beat Sleaford, St James, Horncastle and Deeping.
In the Lincolnshire Seniors League, Boston Men’s Thirds travelled to Louth and won 7-1 in Division Two.
The team was Jeremy George-Jones, Peter Hastings, Martin Harrison and Richard Tupper.
In the Lincolnshire Junior Autumn Outdoor League the under 16 boys’ A team finished the season with a 5-1 over Horncastle.
The team of Lucas East, Will Cutforth, Max Jones and Harry Foster completed the league with four good wins and one loss, which was on a match tie-break against an in-form Deeping.
The Boston Team should be the runners-up.
There have been some good previous individual performances from Connall Newton and Will Cheer, both of whom did not play in the last match.
Overall there were solid performances steered once again most competently by team Captain Nikki Foster.
