The forecast of poor weather for Saturday resulted in local pigeon racing being postponed until Sunday, when the 150-plus mile race from Whitley Bay saw the birds having to face a strong headwind.

The in-form partnership of Carl Upsall and his five-year-old grandson Reece scored their third victory in a row in Boston Central RPC.
