Boston Golf Club’s Rabbits section earned a 4-2 victory when they hosted Boston West.
The course and weather were excellent and could in no way be blamed for some of the scores, with matches shaking hands on the 11th and 14th.
The two captains had the tightest match, with Boston’s captain Peter Keal and his partner Dave Sutton winning 3-2.
The rest of Boston’s team rallied and won with a convincing 4-2.
In glorious sunshine, Boston Golf Club’s Lady Captain Julia West showed the field the way when she won the Cheer Cup with a medal score of 35 nett.
In second place was Ruth Simpson, who came in with 78 nett.
The course was playing long after recent rain and proved difficult for most players.
A good afternoon for golf saw the Jean Howes Mixed Greensomes Competition won by Martin and Yvonne Shaffarczyk with 39 points.
David and Julia West were second on 33 points, with Brian and Jane Marriott a point behind in third.
Mick Holmes and Joan Young also finished with 32 points but had to settle for fourth spot.
The Ladies’ Club Championship was cancelled due to heavy rain which closed the course.
It is now hoped the 36-hole event can be held later in the year.
