Three crews from Boston Rowing Club claimed victories at the picturesque South Yorkshire Head in Doncaster on Saturday.

The WJ14 4x+ quartet made light work of the 4k course, finishing a clear minute ahead of the competition.

Youngster Harry James won the J15 1x event, with clubmate Lewis Belton finishing in second to complete a Boston one-two.

Head coach Adam Berry and club senior Emma Feerick also tasted victory.

They paired up in a mixed 2x.

Not only did they win their class, they were also the second fastest double of the day.

There were two further runners-up from the Carlton Road boathouse, the Novice 2x crew and WJ16 2x combination also finishing in second places.

On Sunday the inaugural British Indoor Rowing Championships were held in the Olympic Velodrome in London.

Three Boston RC juniors joined the Great Britain national squad and representatives from elite level clubs in taking part.

Lucie Scott performed admirably to finish in the top 10, while Jaques Gavey and Oliver Tunnard did well in the boys’ equivalent.

Oliver turned in a phenomenal day’s work, coming seventh in a big field.
