A men’s team from Boston Rowing Club tasted double success this weekend.

Andrew Cook (bow), Pat Burns, Robert Parker and Adrian Apletree (stroke), coxed by Saffy Summerfield, took first place at the Lincoln Head race on Saturday morning.

They then took to a coxless quad in the afternoon, again taking first place.

Jasmine and Ruby Latka won the junior girls’ 13 years double sculls.

At the National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships, Boston’s Lucie Scott (fourth), Tom Nuttal (fourth) and Jasmine Latka (fifth) just missed out on the medals.

The Boston team were sponsored by Boston Audi, who provided transport for Jasmine and Ruby Latka, Polly, Saffy and Indigo Summerfield, Tom Nuttal, Harry Barr, Bethany Holderness, Holly Saunceston, Sam Watson, Lucie Scott and Ted Pitman to attend.

At the women’s eight Head of the River event on the Thames, Harriet Housam helped a composite eight to second spot amongst the junior eights.

This was an impressive 25th place out of the 320 boats who took part.

The course was the Boat Race route, but in reverse.
