Six members ran the almost 15-mile route that follows the riverbanks of the Slea, Skirth and Witham, taking the runners through Billinghay, Tattershall Bridge and Chapel Hill before heading back towards South Kyme.

The event is put on to raise funds for the village by the villagers and is open to both runners and walkers.

With most using it as a long training run it was Dan Clark who chased the leaders down with a great run, managing to take third place overall in a time of 1:44.59, a fabulous achievement.

Martin Tebbs, John Burton, Tanya Knight and Simon Pickwell all paced each other round the course in a steady pace and all finished together in 2:18.00.

Kim Pittam and training buddy Katie Cooper took advantage of the stamina-building off-road route, both finishing in 2:29.00.

The village put on a lovely array of soup and cakes with hot drinks for all the runners and walkers to greet them at the finish.
