Sibsey are in dominant mood

Four teams are vying for third spot in the A.D. Dickinson Division Two of the Boston and District Table Tennis League.

Penmaen C edged into fourth with a 6-4 victory over Sibsey A.

Dave Smith won his three while Chris Cooke and John Shortland added one apiece.

Phil Coote and Jason Cade won two each for Sibsey.

Sibsey B continued their good form when they overcame Belchford 10-0.

Wayne Grooby, Richard Hill and Steve Hill were the triumphant Sibsey side.

The same trio then recorded their second 10-0 win, beating Graves Park E.

Champions Graves Park B beat second-placed Sibsey B 6-4.

Alan Reetham (three), Mick Maltby (two) and Mike Freeston won it for the Park, while Richard Hill (two), Steve Hill (one) replied.

Two-man Wrangle B lost 6-4 to hosts Graves Park E.

Andy Gilbert won his singles against Tony Hall and Tim Sampson, before joining Pete Bell to win the doubles and secure victory.

Sibsey A are heading for at least seventh place in the league following their 9-1 victory over Lodgers D, Tony Kime the only Lodgers player to gain a point, beating Sam Langford.

Jason Cade won his three in straight sets, while Fred Calvert had two five-enders, against Steve Blanchard and Ian Gorrie.

The Brodie will be held on April 2 and the Hard Bat on April 4.

All matches are to be played at Lodgers/Wrangle with matches starting at 7.30pm.

Entries must be sent to Rob Smith by March 29.
