Nina Bradley took home the Pescod Square Sportswoman of the Year accolade for the second time in three years... at the recent Boston Standard Sports Awards.
After being crowned the women’s Amateur Boxing Association national champion, 2013 turned out to be one of her best years in the ring - also making her international bow and being invited to train with the England squad.
“It’s a hard sport to be in. It is pure dedication,” Bradley told BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Scott Dalton, the compere for the evening.
“It’s not like a team sport - you are in there on your own. I don’t think people sometimes really understand that it is a really hard sport to do.”
Harriet Housam was the runner-up in Bradley’s category after the rower claimed bronze for Great Britain’s junior team in Coupe de la Jeunesse in Switzerland (the sport’s European championships).
