Boston Squash and Racketball Club have been crowned Lincolnshire champions in two of the three senior county competitions staged throughout the season.
In a closely-fought Kesteven Cup final the Boston team regained the trophy with a 3-2 win against Metheringham.
The Kesteven cup comprises two men, one woman, one racketball and one over 45 player.
There was a comprehensive victory for Ruth Simpson, but Tim Booth was unable to get too much change from one of the county’s best racketball players, Daniel Carlisle and veteran David Stones lost out 3-1.
However, Jake Fountain, the men’s number two, kept Boston in the match with a hard-fought 3-1 victory and men’s number one Mark Hildred won 3-1 to claim the title in front of a partizan Metheringham crowd.
Boston also won the Alford Cup, the men’s over 35s event, in strange circumstances when opponents Rustons pulled out of the final.
This meant Mark Hildred, Ady Proctor, Graham Wallis, David Stones and Jake Fountain were awarded the final tie and retained the trophy.
In the Parker Cup, open for teams of five men, Boston fought their way through to the final, only to lose out to a very strong Eastgate team.
Hildred claimed a victory for Boston, but teammates Ady Proctor, Graham Wallis, David Stones and Jake Fountain were beaten in a 4-1 scoreline.
