Boston Tennis Club have won the men’s Lincolnshire Veterans Doubles League title for the second successive year.

Ray Frankish captained the men’s vets Firsts to the league success following victory at Grantham.

The side have looked like strong contenders right from the start of the campaign back in October

The team competed consistently and won their final match to become the league champions.

The contest at Grantham was a narrow affair but a 5-3 result was enough for Boston to retain the title.

Playing for the firsts on this occasion were Frankish, Chris Cook, James Newton and Jeremy George-Jones.

The men’s Second team were also in action in Division One, with Sev Smura, Mike Sweeney, Terry Mastin and Phillippe Servonat-Blanc losing 7-1 to Eastgate.

In the Boston and District Winter League, Boston A - Sam Felipes, Iestyn Halford, Matthew Gedney and Harry Foster – beat Boston B’s Rachel Gedney, Emma Mastin, Jeremy George-Jones and Courtney George-Jones on countback.

The C team continue to be on a roll.

This week, Dan Bambridge, Anthony Hulley, James Newton and Ryan Frankish proved too strong for Boston F’s Richard Woods, Zach McDonnell-Woods, Toby McDonnell- Woods and Linda Barrow, claiming a 7-1 victory.

Boston D’s David Dunlop, Michal Chmielik, Simon Beardsley and Tricia Sweeney lost out a close contest on countback after opponents Billinghay won one more game.
