Half a dozen young Gold Tops travelled to Grimsby for the second of this season’s Humberside Track & Field League matches.
And despite the cool, overcast and at times drizzly conditions, the Boston and District AC youngsters achieved a number of improved performances.
At under 11 girls’ level, Macey Andrews won the whizzer throw for the second successive match (14.82m).
Macey also gained two third places in long jump (2.81m) and the 80m (13.1 secs).
Jessica Ward was fifth over 150m (28.2 secs) and also claimed sixth-place points in both the 600m (2 mins 38secs) and the whizzer throw (8.00m).
In the boys’ events, Jensen Barkworth made it a a throws double for BADAC, winning the whizzer throw (29.72m).
Jenson was also fifth in the 150m (25.6 secs) and sixth in the 80m (14.4 secs).
Matthew Connolly was third in the under 15s boys’ 100m (14.5 secs) and seventh over 800m (2 mins 57.1 secs). He also cleared 3.50m to contribute points in the long jump.
In the same age group, Tom Evans was fourth in both the 200m (31.5 secs) and 800m (2 mins 44.8secs) and added points in the javelin (20.66m).
On his first under 17 men’s competition, Daniel Martin was sixth in the 400m (63.0 secs) and seventh over 200m (27.4 secs).
On Saturday and Sunday, the Lincolnshire 2013 Track and Field Championships will be held at Grantham’s South Kesteven Stadium.
Events will begin at 11.30am each day.
