Thursby leads the cyclo-cross way

Boston Wheelers CC have enjoyed their most successful year to date in the Lincolnshire Cyclo-Cross League.

All the club’s riders performed exceptionally well, with Craig Thursby the top finisher.

He ended the competition in seventh overall.

he was also the club’s top verteran, finishing third.

Charlie Porter was 15th (10th senior) and Martin White was 17th (sixth vet).

Darren Smith finished in 53rd (21st senior) while Daniel Storey was 62nd (seventh junior) overall.

Also involved for Boston were Earl Taylor, who came in at 76th (29th senior), Neil Coles in 86th (37th senior) and Stuart Crunkhorn, who was named 90th overall (40th senior).

Richard Ellis finished in 104th (28th vet) while Reece Tomlin was 30 places behind him in 134th.

The Wheelers’ Go-Ride squad performed exceptionally well in their first season in the competition.

All the youngsters were racing in the under 12s section.

However, they were all well under this age limit.

Ten-year-old Bradley Worth was ninth overall with Jael Maw, seven, 20th overall.

She was also the fourth girl.

At six years old, Thomas Smith was 27th overall and Flynn Thursby finished in 34th.

Oliver Carr, Toby Taylor and Ella Taylor also took part.
