Craig Thursby won round 10 of the Boston Wheelers 10-League this week - against some tough opposition.
Some really fast times were recorded last Tuesday, but Craig - nicknamed Turbo - showed enough to pip in-form Martin White over the 10-mile time trial course.
Three visiting cyclists also turned heads as they broke the old course record.
James Hedley Smith of Clay Cross RT now holds the record at 21 mins 49 secs.
Results: Craig Thursby 23-03, Martin White 23-18, Charlie Porter 23-47, Neil Coles 24-34, Pete Flint 24-50, Nick Chapman 25-29, Debbie Barnett 25-37, Richard Cripps 28-42, Darren Smith DNF.
Private Trials: James Hedley Smith (Clay Cross RT) 21-49 CR, Jeremy Hargreave (Fenland RC) 21-50, Richard Hamblin (Sleaford Wheelers) 21-59, Mark Bembridge 23-11, Paul Ripley 23-50, Ian Fensom 23-58, Stef Bryan 24-58, Gareth Hodgson 25-17, Simon Price 26-16.
The Wheelers were also out in force for Wednesday’s TLI Road Race, hosted by Sleaford Wheelers at Ashby de la Launde. Charlie Porter, Craig Thursby, Nick Chapman, Nigel Clare, Earl Taylor, Dan Carr and Gareth Hodgson all rode well, with Taylor taking a top 10 spot.
Neil Coles continues to improve each week and set a course best on Thursday at the Sleaford 10 TT with a 24-55.
Saturday saw the largest attendance yet at the Go-Ride sessions, which encourages youngsters to take up cycling.
Anyone interested can join in at the Peter Paine Sports Centre on Saturday mornings (10.30am-11.30am).
