Boston U12s are guaranteed to play in Division A after travelling to Peterborough for the Lincolnshire Friendly Junior Hockey League.

Their first game in Division B of 2013 was against Leadenham winning the game 2-0, with William Wright scoring when his persistence in the ‘D’ finally saw the ball squeeze past the goalkeeper, and Joseph O’Shea scoring the other with a well-taken finish.

They then took on hosts Bourne Deeping and played very well against a very good and organised side, with both sides creating excellent chances, but just one goal was scored by Henry Thorogood.

Not to say that there weren’t some heart-in-mouth moments - Natalie Davy, Ethan Grey and Morgan Stokes battled away and made some excellent interceptions anddebutant goalkeeper Joel Wilson made some good saves.

The next match was against Lincoln C and the team fell into the complacency trap. They still won the game 2-0, however, with two goals from Joe.

The young team then turned around with a 3-0 victory against SleaBourBost. Henry and Joe scored two and the third was a well taken effort by a captain Dominic Wilson square to Joe who swept home with a first time effort.

Boston’s final game was against Spalding Lions. Dominic swept the ball home to give the U12’s a perfect start, but Spalding came back and equalised with a flick over goalie Joel Wilson.

Boston, are now guaranteed to play in Division A for the next session, where they will play against the top sides within Lincolnshire.
