Playing on their normal Tuesday roll-up day, the section has been celebrating a series of aces in recent weeks.

Brian Curtis struck his first-ever and second hole-in-ones just three weeks apart.

But last week it was the turn of John to buy the whiskey.

While playing in the November Winter Stableford competition, John took his driver out on the par-three second hole and watched as his ball covered the 185 yards to bounce onto the green and proceeded to go straight into the hole.

John finished in third place with a score of 35 points, and it was left to Tony Taylor to take the honours with a very good score of 40 points.

John Chain was second with 38 points.
