With Brian Hill and Alan Ashberry unavailable, the Lincolnshire over 60s team of Derek Wood, Andy Dibdin (Scunthorpe), Peter Munch and Marilyn Bawden (a regular Boston Summer League player), played three matches in the Premier Division at Milton Keynes, having secured promotion to the top flight last season.

This was always going to be a struggle, and so it proved with 2-8 losses to Cheshire and Gloucestershire and a 3-7 loss to Essex.

Derek, playing at number one, had one good singles win and two mixed doubles wins with Marilyn, who was the star winning her three singles, the other win being a walkover.

With four matches to be played at the end of March, hopefully with Brian and Alan available, Lincolnshire should see a marked improvement.
