A team of daring cyclists are preparing to take on a 300-mile lap of Lincolnshire - in the space of 24 hours to - raise cash for Sport Relief.

The Boston Wheelers members will set off for their challenge on March 21, beginning and ending at the Princess Royal Sports Arena.

After leaving the PRSA, the group will head out on a loop including Skegness, Mablethorpe, Grimsby, Barton upon Humber, Scunthorpe, Gainsborough, Grantham and back to the base.

After covering their initial 200 miles, the group will have a rest before heading back out to Revesby, Woodhall Spa, Sleaford, Bourne, Market Deeping, Moulton, Fosdyke and back to Boston.

“We thought it would be a good thing to raise money for Sport Relief,” said event organiser Alan Sharpe.

“The club prides itself on helping people get into cycling and also keeping fit, so it all fits in well together.”

Joining Alan on the trek will be Simon Balsom, Asa Elkington, Earl Taylor (left), Nick Chapman, Simon Plaice, Chris Clayton, Neil Booley, Darren Smith (right), Ken Syrett, Danny Brown, Julie Ellis and Nigel Clare.

Joining them on part of the ride will be Kenny Doig, Rob Wright, Tim Wilkinson, Mick Huskinson and Paul Winrow.
