Wilcox is top rod

Shane Wilcox was the top rod as he won the Sunday Open on Westwood Lakes’ Skylark Lake.

Wilcox headed the field in this closely contested match with 63 lbs 2 oz.

Shane, on peg 29, fished across to the island to catch carp to 5lb and numerous f1s on expander pellet over 2mm feed pellet.

Close behind in second was David Smith (Hinderclay) on peg 17 with 60 lbs 11 oz and in third was Steve Lane (Maruyku/Westwood Lakes) on peg 25 with 60 lbs 10 oz.

Thursday’s Over 50s Open Match, also on Skylark, was fished on a bitterly cold day.

Mel Green (Westwood Lakes) drew peg 20 and fished across to the island on pellet to win with 27 lbs 14 oz with carp and f1s.

In joint place for second were Ray Pauley (Ruskington AC) on peg nine and Jeff Dougan (Westwood Lakes) on peg 21.

Both recorded 27 lbs 4 oz.

Skylark Open Match

Tuesday’s Open Match, was won by Steve Lane.

The Maruyku/Westwood Lakes) angler recorded 77 lbs 10 oz from peg 22.

In second was Janusz Kedzierski (Westwood Lakes) 48 lbs 10 oz on peg 31 and third went to Brian Harding (Maver/Baitech) 42 lbs 8 oz on peg 24.

Spike Milligan (Garbolino/Lincs County) was fourth. He had a haul of 40 lb 10 oz from peg 34.
