Ben Wilson will head to Silverstone in Northamptonshire for the penultimate round of the British Supersport championship at the weekend - seeking to move up to sixth spot in the rider standings.
Over the last few races Wilson has scored well and is only 22 points away from sixth place, which is held by Andy Reid.
But Reid is out injured and will play no part in the final two rounds.
So, if Wilson can record four top-six results, he could overtake him and claim sixth place for himself.
Wilson scored a fourth and fifth place finish in the Supersport races at Silverstone two years ago, and if he could record the same score in this year’s races he would score 29.
That would be enough to take charge of sixth place with two races to spare.
Last year he was having a dismal year with the Kawasaki Superbike and didn’t contest either of the two Superbike races at the Northamptonshire circuit.
The timetable for the Supersport races is: Friday - free practice at 9.35am and 2pm; Saturday - qualifying 11.40am, 10 lap sprint race 5.15pm; Sunday - warm-up 10.10am, 12 lap feature race 3.40pm.
Both races will benefit from live TV coverage on Saturday and Sunday.
