Ben Wilson is to make his debut at the North West 200 road races this week.
The Kirton racer will swap the British Supersport tracks for the roads of Northern Ireland.
Practice began yesterday (Tuesday) and will continue tomorrow morning ahead of racing on Thursday and Saturday.
The Vauxhall International North West 200 takes place on public roads between Coleraine, Portstewart and Portrush and is one of the fastest road races in the world.
The annual event is run over the 8.970 mile course, famously named The Triangle, at speeds in excess of 200mph.
Riding the Kawasaki he uses for the British Supersport championship, Wilson is looking forward to the event and said: “I have always wanted to have a crack at the NW200 and this year I have been given the opportunity to do so.
“I am really looking forward to the week, it will make a refreshing change from circuit racing.
“I have to learn the course and then complete some laps within the qualifying time before I can get rid of the orange novice jacket, then it’s all systems go.”
