Pre-squad members of Boston Amateur Swimming Club took part in a mini champs gala earlier this month at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre.
Previously the youngsters, aged between six and 10, had taken part in the club’s main gala, but they now have their own mini gala twice a year, and assistant coach Sarah Goodale said: “It’s nice for them to have their own gala. It helps bring them up to the next level.
“We had 30 children taking part and it highlighted the real potential we have among our young swimmers.”
The youngsters competed over 25 metres in front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly, and over 50 metres in front crawl.
Medals and certificates were awarded on the day.
The club holds two mini galas each year, in April and October.
