Are you looking for support to help you achieve your sporting dreams?
If so, help may be at hand.
The Leg-Up Club are on the search for sporting talent which they can help reach its potential.
Twelve months ago the group of friends, who wish to remain anonymous, launched their search for promising athletes in the area... hoping to give them some much-needed financial backing.
Archer Amy Gott (pictured) and clay piegeon shooter Marcus Horry both impressed the panel so much last year that they split the £1,600 pot.
Impressed by those achievements, the Leg-Up Club are again keen to hear from sportspeople of all ages who believe this year’s purse of £2,000 could make a difference to them - be it for equipment, coaching or even travel costs.
The members come from a mixture of different sporting backgrounds, and they are open-minded as to which sport they are looking to support. For a chance to be the recipient of the busary, you are asked to get in contact and explain why you feel you should receive a leg-up.
The group have teamed up with The Standard, and are appealing for anyone interested to get in contact.
To put yourself forward, or to nominate a sporting talent, email firstname.lastname@example.org, outlining details about the individual, their sporting discipline, age, and what the money would be put towards.
The closing date for entries is December 31.
